Rozluka

Rozluka (meaning "Parting" or "Separation") is a Ukrainian song that fits within the tradition of romantic vocal music exploring themes of love and loss. 

Mykola Lysenko (1842-1912) composed over 120 songs, setting texts by prominent Ukrainian poets including Taras Shevchenko, Ivan Franko, and Lesia Ukrainka, and was deeply committed to creating music that reflected authentic Ukrainian folk traditions rather than imitating Western European styles.
