Carnival of Venice

Based on the Neapolitan folk tune "O Mamma, Mamma Cara," the Carnival of Venice was popularised by Paganini, who wrote twenty variations titled "Il Carnevale Di Venezia," Op. 10. The tune has since inspired numerous arrangements, often as "show off" pieces for virtuosos. One of the most notable of these is by Jean-Baptiste Arban.
